Documents Overview
CMAS provides many written resource materials, documents and publications to support childminders and other practitioners in their work with newcomer families and children.
LINC Childminding ~ This section provides Support Documents, a selection of short, helpful documents on health, safety and policy topics. Support documents are available in English and in French. Also in this section are full-length publications written by CMAS that go into more depth, such as how to set up a childminding program, ideas about providing nutritious snacks and more. Finally, in this section you'll find the CMAS Newsletter, Keeping In Touch. Occasional Child Care ~ This section includes the Occasional Child Care (OCC) Requirements, written by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, parent information letters and registration forms (available in 24 languages), the OCC Operations Manual, Handbooks for administrators and caregivers and an OCC resource binder.
Training Opportunities Project ~ This section provides an overview of the Training Opportunities Project (TOP), including 4 Easy Steps to TOP Training, application forms and FAQs.
A Day in the Life ~ This section provides a package of 10 posters depicting some of the many activities and routines in an average LINC childminding program. Language-based word sheets are also part of the Day in the Life package.
Julie Dotsch Articles ~ This section provides articles on working with newcomer families and children, written for CMAS by Julie Dotsch, One World.
